Children's Minister Kelvin Davis says he's keen to confront racism in the care and protection system

Children's Minister Kelvin Davis says he's keen to confront racism in the care and protection system

The Children's Commissioner says Oranga Tamariki must stop removing babies from the care of their wider whanau.

Andrew Becroft says severing children's connections with whanau, hapu and iwi causes long-term harm.

Davis agrees - but says we must ensure whoever a child is placed with in their extended family, is safe and loving.
