Getting the gloves out to combat the housing crisis

Getting the gloves out to combat the housing crisis

The Government's just unveiled key markers for the months ahead... as it scrambles to take heat out of the market.

By late February - it'll have considered Reserve Bank and Treasury advice on demand-side initiatives.

May's Budget will attempt to further address supply - and a National Policy Statement on urban development will kick in by July.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says housing is one of our toughest long-term problems.

She says the current price growth rate is unsustainable - and first home buyers are being shut out.
