There are fears plans to beautify Auckland's Queen Street could cause an ugly mess

There are fears plans to beautify Auckland's Queen Street could cause an ugly mess

Council's announced plans to remove yellow markers and stone blocks put in place last year to encourage social distancing.

They'll be replaced by boardwalks, planter boxes with native trees and new seating.

But Heart of the City says Auckland Transport's set to reveal possible plans for traffic flow for the rest of the street on Monday.

Chief Executive Viv Beck says she's concerned about what those might include.

She says people need to know people can get a cab, that bikes aren't cycling into buses, and the street works for multiple users.
