The government's due to announce Pharmac funding and what could boost its medicine budget up 40-percent

Sources have told the Post the Government's looking to announce at least 600-million dollars of additional funding for Pharmac, to cover cancer medicines and other medications.

The move is yet to be signed off by Cabinet.

It's expected to detail National's pledge around funding 13 cancer drugs.

Cancer Society's Dr Rachael Hart wants the government to relieve the feeling of uncertainty from cancer patients.

She says it's safe to say cancer patients are distressed.
