The Associate Health Minister's defending her approach to smoking, at a health conference

The Associate Health Minister's defending her approach to smoking, at a health conference

Casey Costello is speaking at the Health Coalition Aotearoa forum in Wellington.

Health advocates slammed Government moves to remove smokefree regulation, and reduce tax on heated tobacco products.

As part of a presentation, Auckland University professor. Boyd Swinburn, told the Minister her policies go against best practice, and aren't evidence-based.

Costello told the room she recognises people don't have the same approach, but everyone has the same goal - to reduce smoking rates.
