Christchurch City Councillors are already discussing next year's rates

Christchurch City Councillors are already discussing next year's rates

The first public briefing of the Annual Plan was held yesterday - where councillors also discussed plans for parks and three waters.

A 8.45 percent increase is set out in the Long Term Plan, however, recent forecasts show inflation higher than the forecasts used.

Finance, Risk and Performance general manager Bede Carran says they'll be working to refine the figure and drive it as low as possible while maintaining services promised.

Further briefings are planned over the coming months.
