The Prime Minister says it's too simplistic to say the Treaty Principles Bill would resolve 184 years of debate

The Prime Minister says it's too simplistic to say the Treaty Principles Bill would resolve 184 years of debate

Te Pati Maori MP Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke, lead a haka during the bill's first reading and disrupting the vote, which has gone viral on social media.

But Christopher Luxon says despite its number of global hits, it wasn't discussed at the APEC Summit in Peru.

He also says New Zealanders expect the standards of Parliament to be maintained.. Luxon says all parties still need to work within the rules of Parliament, irrespective of how difficult a topic may be, otherwise it doesn't work.

The hikoi protesting the bill is making its way from Hastings to Palmerston North today, and are expected to arrive in Wellington tomorrow.
