A warning scammers will unfortunately take advantage of the holiday season

Privacy Commissioner Michael Webster is reminding New Zealanders to not give away their privacy through fake online shopping sites or scam emails.

He's also urging people to be cautious about giving and receiving internet connected gifts.

Webster says people shouldn't forget about their privacy.

He says people should be suspicious and think twice about any toy or appliance that asks for personal details.
