Nicola Willis insists her talks with Fonterra about butter prices have been productive

Nicola Willis insists her talks with Fonterra about butter prices have been productive

    Fonterra
    Fonterra
The Finance Minister has been talking with the dairy co-op about why the price of butter has almost doubled in the past 14 months.

Fonterra's pointed to the widely-reported rise in international prices, and said it wouldn't sell butter to New Zealanders at a lower price than it can make overseas.

Willis says she still thinks the conversation was useful.

She says it's good for Fonterra to be talking about why the price of butter is what it is.
