The Energy Minister is signalling significant changes for our power sector could be unveiled before next winter

The Energy Minister is signalling significant changes for our power sector could be unveiled before next winter

Electricity generators must now follow new rules obliging them to sell energy to everyone at the same rate.

It prevents our big four gentailers, limiting competition by giving themselves favourable discounts.

Energy Minister Simon Watts says the Government's working on addressing root causes for energy market issues.

He says he understands people want change quickly, but they need to work through complex problems and get it right.
