New Zealand's first tyre recycling scheme is expected to have a revolutionary impact on sustainability efforts

New Zealand's first tyre recycling scheme is expected to have a revolutionary impact on sustainability efforts

The Automobile Association is eagerly anticipating the rollout of Tyrewise, which is expected to get underway next year.

6.5 million tyres will be recycled every year.

The AA's Jonathan Sergel says it's been in the works more than 10 years.

He says various governments have expressed support but there's now funding to get the ball rolling, and it's great to see the scheme coming to fruition.
