Newly-minted Greens co-leader Chloe Swarbrick, says she's still grappling with her ascension through the party

Newly-minted Greens co-leader Chloe Swarbrick, says she's still grappling with her ascension through the party

The Auckland Central MP, was unanimously voted by party members to take over from James Shaw, who resigned in January but will remain an MP.

Swarbrick's only challenger, was Dunedin-based activist Alex Foulkes, who's not in Parliament, and didn't get a single vote.

She says it's not something she necessarily asked for - but she feels incredibly humbled, excited and privileged.

Swarbrick sees her role as reminding New Zealanders, there is greater leadership capacity in communities, than is reflected in Parliament.
