Winston Peters has refused to state if he believes China is a threat to New Zealand

Winston Peters has refused to state if he believes China is a threat to New Zealand

The Foreign Affairs Minister has confirmed the Government is exploring joining Aukus Pillar II -- and is waiting on cabinet papers from Labour on the matter before making any progress.

Peters told TVNZ they're well aware of geo-strategic changes -- but wouldn't say if he believes there is a strategy to contain China's influence.

He says our job is to be awake and aware, while also doing our best to be a peaceful influence in the Pacific.
