A move to expand our vaccination workforce - and increase childhood immunisation rates

A move to expand our vaccination workforce - and increase childhood immunisation rates

Up to one million dollars is going towards training Whanau Awhina Plunket staff as vaccinators.

It will also help to establish immunisation services at up to 27 sites across the country - where coverage is particularly low.

Health Minister Dr Shane Reti says the service is well placed with its existing clinical infrastructure and networks to start vaccinating children soon.

He says the first site, Whangarei, expects to deliver child immunisations by the end of the year.
