The Foreign Affairs Minister's significantly playing down the prospect of New Zealand achieving a free trade deal with India before 2026

The Foreign Affairs Minister's significantly playing down the prospect of New Zealand achieving a free trade deal with India before 2026

Both Winston Peters and Prime Minister Chris Luxon will visit the country next year, as they push to securing an agreement.

Despite this, Peters says it's going to take a lot more time for New Zealand to ratify such a deal with India.

He says a free trade deal in the space of the next two years would be a total miracle -- but, the Government will start negotiations for an agreement during this term of Government.
