Hopes stricter rules around power generation prices lead to more affordable energy

Hopes stricter rules around power generation prices lead to more affordable energy

The Government's welcoming moves by the Electricity Authority, requiring the big four large power companies to sell the power they generate to all companies at the same rate.

They'll no longer be able to offer themselves a discounted rate.

Energy Minister Simon Watts says they're expecting downward pressure on prices and more transparency.
