One DHB is introducing tougher visitor rules, on the same day another eases restrictions

Southland Hospital's Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation wards are closed to visitors, to protect patients after Covid exposures.

Some visitors may be allowed on compassionate grounds.

Meanwhile, West Coast DHB has eased restrictions because of falling Omicron cases.

It's still asking visitors and support people to sanitise their hands, practice physical distancing, and stay away if unwell.
