Concerns for staff safety as Medsafe approves 11 cold and flu medicines containing pseudoephedrine

The Bill to re-introduce the medicines passed its final reading this week.

They were originally banned under John Key's Government because of its use in Methamphetamine production.

Mangawhai Pharmacy owner Lanny Wong says the pseudoephedrine shoppers can be quite intimidating.

She says those who've worked in pharmacies for years will remember those days - it's not something that is very pleasant to deal with, so being prepared is not a silly thing to think about.
