Bargaining efforts don't appear to have dissuaded nurses from walking off the job at 9am tomorrow

Bargaining efforts don't appear to have dissuaded nurses from walking off the job at 9am tomorrow

Health New Zealand says it's disappointed, as 36-thousand nurses, midwives and health workers plan to follow through with the 24 hour strike.

The Nurses Organisation says workers were preparing for this after rejecting Health New Zealand's latest offer over safety concerns and inadequate wage increases.

It's understood more than four-thousand planned procedures and specialist appointments will be postponed.

Life preserving services will be put in place.
