Calls for more accessible information about medicinal cannabis

Calls for more accessible information about medicinal cannabis

A new study in today's New Zealand Medical Journal reveals 91 percent of patients surveyed, indicate they'd use a prescribed medicinal cannabis product.

Just under half of patients believe it would be helpful to their condition, but only a few have discussed it with their GP or specialist.

Senior clinical research fellow Karen Oldfield says being open about medicinal products, and having conversations about it is important - so more research can be done.

She says it will enable a better understanding between what patients want, and how doctors perceive it.
