A court's ordered a four-year-old be immunised - despite her parents being split on the issue

A court's ordered a four-year-old be immunised - despite her parents being split on the issue

Her father filed an opposition - at the Blenheim District Court - to his daughter receiving regular childhood vaccinations.

He told the court he was concerned about what was in them - and didn't think they were necessary.

But the child's under the joint care of her parents and Oranga Tamariki - and her mother and the agency want her immunised, under health guidelines.

In a recently released decision, Judge Richard Russell ordered the child be immunised.

He says he has to put the child's health and wellbeing first - and ordered the girl's GP to oversee her vaccination schedule.
