The key out of lockdown for Auckland is to get tested

The key out of lockdown for Auckland is to get tested

That's the message from virus modeller Shaun Hendy - joining the call from health experts, urging people to keep up Covid-19 testing rates.

Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield says Auckland must reach seven-thousand tests a day before an alert level change.

Auckland University Professor Hendy says those sort of numbers would give us a lot more confidence.

He says if a person has Covid symptoms - and even if they had a test last week - they should go get another test if the symptoms persist or change.
