It's estimated our breast-screening programme has been pushed back 10 years because of the lack of mammograms being done since Covid-19 hit our shores

The Breast Cancer Foundation says 133 people have missed a breast cancer diagnosis due to the lockdown.

The programme was put on hold at level 4 and has been running at reduced capacity from level 3.

Breast Cancer Foundation chief executive, Ah-Leen Rayner, says women are being diagnosed later with breast cancer.

She says that means it's harder to treat and there's an increased likelihood of it returning.
