Doctor Bryan Betty is one of the 187 people who've it onto the Queens honours list

The GP has been recognised for his work in diabetes, rheumatic fever, and health equity.

Bryan Betty, who is also the Medical Director of the College of GPs says the honour is more than just an award for him, but also the people who have worked to secure better health outcomes for the underprivileged.

He says the award reflects the doctors and nurses working in places of high need, where a lot of people do it really tough.
