A new fulvestrant injection's being funded for people with breast cancer

From December 1st, Fulvestrant EVER Pharma will be the funded brand through to the middle of next year.

Director Pharmaceuticals Adrienne Martin says the decision follows recent safety, tolerability, and treatment continuity concerns.

She says Pharmac's worked with clinicians and consumers in Australia - where multiple brands are available.

She says the new brand doesn't require refrigeration - which may reduce injection site discomfort and improve ease of use.
