A High Court jury in Auckland's heard the 111 call of a man charged with murdering his mother- by hitting her with a hammer

Martin Joseph Matthew Marinovich is charged with murdering Noeleen Marinovich, on February 7 last year.

In the police call, made early on February 8, Marinovich admitted attacking his mother.

He says he snapped - and couldn't believe what happened.

The Crown alleges Marinovich murdered his mother after likely arguing with her in the home they shared in Oratia.

    Marinovich denies the murder charge.
