    Silver Fern Farms has been slammed by a more than 337-thousand dollar fine over an ammonia spill


    The hazardous material leaked from the Company's Hawera plant last year and killed thousands of fish along a 13 kilometre stretch.

    The business pleaded guilty to two charges in the Environment Court today.

    It's understood to be the biggest fine issued for environmental offending.
