    An  investigation is continuing into the death of a man following his arrest over the weekend

    An investigation is continuing into the death of a man following his arrest over the weekend


    The man had presented at Auckland Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

    Upon his discharge just before 6pm on Saturday, he was arrested and taken to the Auckland Custody Unit.

    Shortly after midnight he was found unresponsive by Police.

    He died in hospital a short time later.

    Police are working with health officials as part of the investigation into his death.

    The matter has been reported to the Coroner, WorkSafe and the Independent Police Conduct Authority.
