A ute has been reversed into the front of a Hornby dairy overnight.

A ute has been reversed into the front of a Hornby dairy overnight.

Police were alerted to the attempted ram raid at Barkers Convenience Store on Witham Street, at around 5.30 this morning.

    Inquiries are ongoing.

There have been several other overnight raids - including in Wainuiomata, where a stolen digger was used.

Police say the excavator was taken from a construction site and has significantly damaged the building, leaving it unstable.
