A call for calm after the death of a 16-year-old boy, in a violent assault outside a Dunedin bus hub

A call for calm after the death of a 16-year-old boy, in a violent assault outside a Dunedin bus hub

Emergency services were called to the hub on Great King Street just after 3pm yesterday.

The boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, but died several hours later.

The Hits' Dunedin host Patrina Roche says the incident will affect a lot of the community.

She says now is not the time to speculate what happened, but a time to show support and respect to the victim's family.

A second teenager has been taken into custody.
