The Police Commissioner says a proposed restructure could mean a boost in funding to the districts

Richard Chambers is opening consultation on a proposal to disestablish 37 executive and support service positions, and create 20 new roles.

He says a restructure will help deliver on his priorities of having strong and visible police leaders.

Chambers says he's also focusing on the frontline's safety and wellbeing.

He says any savings made by trimming down the number of executives could be funnelled into helping district commanders.
