A man has been arrested in relation to seven suspicious fires in Masterton earlier this year

Police believe the six churches and one local business set alight intentionally in February.

A 44-year-old man is expected to appear in Court tomorrow on seven charges of arson.

Wairarapa Area Commander Inspector Nick Thom says the fires were upsetting for many people, and public co-operation played a pivotal role in the investigation.
