The Police Commissioner says urgent action must be taken to prevent staff accessing inappropriate or harmful content

The Police Commissioner says urgent action must be taken to prevent staff accessing inappropriate or harmful content

A rapid review was launched into police IT systems and devices - following the resignation of then-deputy commissioner Jevon McSkimming, after allegations objectionable material was found on his work computer.

Richard Chambers says it's found current settings aren't robust enough - and must be urgently changed.

It recommends more monitoring and oversight of staff internet-use and police-owned devices - including those outside the network.

Two immediate changes have been ordered.
