Police remain at a walkway by Auckland's Southern Motorway, after a bomb scare following a man's sudden death

Officers called to the path at Highbrook about 11.30am - found an item resembling an improvised explosive device.

Specialists say two objects found in the area are likely not IEDs - but have removed them for further examination

Police examine the area in detail tonight, and look into the man's death on behalf of the Coroner.
