    A Southland man has been jailed after sending AI-generated photos of himself, armed with a rifle, to a victim


    Byron David Ray admitted sending the images via Snapchat in October, to a person who had a protection order against him.

    The Southland Times reports the 23-year-old admitted they were AI, after Police executed a search warrant at his house but didn't find a rifle.

    The man's been sentenced to five months' imprisonment on charges including possession of a prohibited firearm and intimidation.
