    Dunedin police are appealing for witnesses to a serious late-night assault that put three people in hospital


    Several female students were attacked by up to six youths in the city about 10.35pm on July 31.

    The students were attacked walking along Cumberland and Dundas Streets, with one seriously injured.

    Police want to hear from any witnesses, and a group of men in a black Ford Ranger ute who helped the victims.
