Donglan Wu stabbed the woman in March 2021 shortly after separating from her husband, having stayed with him to keep the family together after first discovering the affair.
The 53-year-old was sent to prison for five years and three months, and ordered to pay $10,000 to the victim.
Open Justice reports she appealed her deportation liability notice on humanitarian grounds, including mental health history, family circumstances, and Christian beliefs.
The notice was suspended for five years, on the condition she doesn't commit further offences.
