A 32-year-old man's been charged with murder - over an inmate's death at Mt Eden Corrections Facility on Friday

A 32-year-old man's been charged with murder - over an inmate's death at Mt Eden Corrections Facility on Friday

The victim's family told the Herald they're furious about the delay in Corrections' communications on the death.

They say they made the first contact on Monday to demand answers.

Facility general manager Dion Paki says Corrections had been seeking correct contact details from Police.

But the family says the victim's sister was a vetted visitor, whose details would have been on hand.

The accused will appear in the Auckland District Court on Thursday.
