    A man's appearing in court today on a murder charge, after the death of another man in New Plymouth last night


    Emergency services were called to reports of an altercation on St Aubyn Street shortly before 7pm.

    They performed CPR on a man with critical injuries but he died at the scene, and a 44-year-old man arrested at the scene has been charged with murder.

    Police say part of St Aubyn Street remains closed and cordoned off.

    Police are asking anyone who saw what happened or has information about the people involved to call 105 .
