Te Pati Maori has emailed its members a series of documents that contain serious allegations against one of its own MPs and her son

The email was sent to members about 10 last night.

It said documentation had been prepared "in direct response" to recent claims made by former party vice president Eru Kapa-Kingi, the son of MP Mariameno Kapa-Kingi.

He claimed the party had a leadership style akin to a "dictatorship".

Among the documents released last night appears to be a confidential Parliamentary Service report alleging an incident occurred on Budget Day last year, involving Eru Kapa-Kingi.
