Christchurch families who can't afford internet may be subsidised

Christchurch families who can't afford wireless internet... may now have the chance to get it installed

Spark Foundation and the 20/20 Trust are bringing subsidised broadband to eligible families in Central Christchurch - so more students can keep up with their digital skills.

They'll receive a modem and wireless broadband connection with 30 GB for 10-dollars - without a fixed term contract.

Addington.net's Greg Smith says the Spark Jump project will help close the skills gap between families who can afford home broadband and those who can't.

Eligible families are those with children up to the age of 18 - with no current broadband connection.
