Hawke's Bay residents this morning received emails notifying them of their property category

236 are provisional category 3 properties in the region, and two-thousand-526 are provisionally in category 2.

A joint statement from regional councils says there is still work to do on the category areas - covering a wide spectrum of circumstances, including properties not damaged by the cyclone, but at risk from future severe weather.

They say the funding in Budget 2023 is a step in the right direction - but significantly less than the region needs.
