The Otago Regional Council's admitting further privacy breaches, during an investigation into it sharing the email addresses of hundreds of people

The Otago Regional Council's admitting further privacy breaches, during an investigation into it sharing the email addresses of hundreds of people

The council has apologised to 472 people whose email addresses were mistakenly shared, after they submitted on the draft regional public transport plan.

It happened when submitters were copied, rather than blind copied, into an email acknowledging submissions.

According to the ODT, the council investigation found a summary of submissions, briefly hosted on the council website, included further breaches including names, email addresses and phone numbers.
