Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown are the top destinations for travellers departing from Auckland Airport these school holidays

Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown are the top destinations for travellers departing from Auckland Airport these school holidays

    Auckland Airport

Queenstown will see the biggest boost with passenger numbers doubling over the two week break compared to the weeks leading up to it.

Last year more than 60 thousand travellers passed through Auckland Airport on peak days during the July school holidays.

This year, with border restrictions, an average of just over 16 thousand travellers are predicted to arrive or depart from the domestic terminal on each of the busiest school holiday travel days.

Next Sunday, and both Fridays will be the top three travel days.
