Rates of ADHD in New Zealand are estimated on OECD figures, but spokesperson Darrin Bull says a more accurate country wide database would enable better support.
He says children should be screened at primary and intermediate, so they can be assisted earlier.
Bull says not helping neurodiverse children will come back to bite the country when they're adults.
The Ministry of Health says the under development child youth mental health survey will give an idea of prevalence.
