A court has heard some Auckland University managers were uncomfortable with Siousxie Wiles' celebrity status during Covid

A court has heard some Auckland University managers were uncomfortable with Siousxie Wiles' celebrity status during Covid

The prominent microbiologist has taken her uni boss to the Employment Court, claiming it failed to protect her from harassment.

Emails showed one of her bosses asked her whether she'd informed the university about all her 'outside' activities, and if they were in line with policies.

The university also began monitoring Wiles' social media.

Its lawyer says her claims the measures were retaliatory and she was being 'singled out', were 'disingenous'.

It says they were reasonable - to ensure she was following the code of conduct.
