Parents and staff at South Island afterschool programmes MASH and CASPA have been left scrambling for answers following the closure of their services.
An email from the director confirmed the closure last Thursday - and blamed cash flow issues.
All branches closed the next day.
Former employee at MASH's St Albans branch, Cecelia Miras says she was aware of the company's financial struggles - and hasn't been paid since she started last month.
She says parents and children were crying when they found out - as no one expected the closure to be so abrupt.
