Skiers will be maintaining at least a one metre distance on the ski area closest to Christchurch

Skiers will be maintaining at least a one metre distance on the ski area closest to Christchurch

Porter Heights believes it can easily comply with Covid 19 restrictions for social distancing when the ski area opens up to skiers and snow boarders.

Manager Darren Cavill says the ski area will concentrate on managing social distances at chairlift and ticket queues, and look at grab-and-go options in the cafe if it opens during level 2.

He says the mountain is a huge area and visitors shouldn't have a problem keeping their distance.

Cavill says anyone closer than a metre on the ski mountain shouldn't be, as it's dangerous.
