Hopes improved growing conditions so far this yea,r can see more broccoli on supermarket shelves

Stats NZ data shows the price of the green vegetable dropped by around 32 percent, compared to April last year.

The higher prices were caused by extreme weather last year, with improved weather this year, seeing a much more encouraging turnaround.

But Foodstuffs North Island spokesperson Brigit Corson, says the weather's still uncertain, and could have an impact going forward.

She says as it's May, bit of volatility is expected, but in the meantime, we should be munching through all the broccoli on our shelves already,
