An Aucklander killed in the US is being remembered as a loving grandparent and friend

An Aucklander killed in the US is being remembered as a loving grandparent and friend

Remuera resident Patricia McKay was run over during an attempted robbery, at a California mall.

The 68-year-old was visiting with her businessman husband, Doug - tributes have come in from Eden Park and BNZ where he's been board chair.

Herald reporter Rachel Maher says neighbours were consoling each other on the street today.

She says McKay was a doting grandmother, who loved her family and lived in a tight-knit community who are in total shock.
